Chapter 01 — Centering pre-screen
PSA, BGS and CGC charge $15–50 a card — and centering is the #1 reason a card caps below a 10. CardGrade measures your card's borders right in your browser and tells you whether it's worth grading. No upload to any server. Free.

Chapter 02 — Analyze a card
This is a centering-only estimate. Real grades also depend on corners, edges and surface (scratches, print lines, whitening) — those need a human and high-res photos and are not assessed here (Pro/future). The centering math reads cleanest on cards with a single solid border; cards with a multi-band frame (a colored border and an inner pale band) can read off. Lighting, camera angle and crop affect the reading — shoot straight-on with the card filling the frame, or on a plain dark background. Treat this as a go/no-go pre-screen, not a guarantee.
Chapter 03 — How it works
We scan inward from each edge and measure where the solid colored border ends and the busy inner artwork begins — that run length is the border width on each side.
Left vs right and top vs bottom border widths become ratios like 55/45. PSA wants 55/45 or better front for a 10.
The worse of the two axes maps to a rough PSA ceiling, so you know whether the $15–50 grading fee is worth it before you mail it.
